Cannot connect VMware View 5.1 using PocketCloud Pro

Cannot connect VMware View 5.1 using PocketCloud Pro

When trying to connect to view security server and configuring setting using PocketCloud pro for iPhone, got error message said that VMware View connection failed. I could login using VMware View client for Android and iPAD. Could you please advise? FYI, the VMware view version is 5.

After upgrading View 4.6 to version 5.1 in our organisation, we are facing the same problem - connection from Pocket Cloud Pro clients doesn't works. Do you know about any solution?

Did you try the steps above to see if it helped at all? Can you also try deleting the connection in PocketCloud and then creating it again? Also what version of PocketCLoud are you using?

Make sure that View is setup to accept RDP connections. PocketCloud does not support PCoIP at this time.

Client version is 2.2.237 now, but still no success. Our View server is accepting RDP - it works from another clients. The issue can be related with self-signed certificate and also the server address/name is different from the server name in the certificate.
I tried to delete View connection, and durring creating the new one it seams to works - I was able to list all assigned desktops from View server. Anyway, after saving the new connection, it doesn't works. And when I'm trying to edit this new connection, listing of assigned View desktops doesn't works anymore.

PS: Accept all certificates switch is turned On in the client settings (all the time).

DegetZ and Huang_Ying, were you ever able to connect before?

Can you try editing the connection and re-selecting the VMWare Domain and Desktop again and attempt to connect again?

Hello,

I have the same problem as above. I've tried the knowledge base too, so far nothing helped.
Connection from iPad with VMware Client works fine, DNS is OK.

Hi Josh, DNS setup is correct. I could connect from iPad with VMware View Client.

Hey guys, unfortunately 5.1 is not yet supported. It will be, but we are still working on it as of right now. My apologies for any inconvenience this may be causing you.

I just bought this software so I could use my iPhone (hardware 4, software iOS 5.1.1) to connect to our new View 5.1 environment (security server with public SSL cert), which has both VDIs and physical machines accessible. The iPad VMWare client works great. I googled around when VMWare didn't have an iPhone app, this one looked good and has great reviews.

But it looks like I'm SOL with 5.1. How will I know when a version comes out that supports 5.1? Do you have an ETA yet? I would highly recommend calling out the lack of support for 5.1 on the App description in the store.

Josh, is there a progress update you could give us? It has nearly been a month since your last post and there have not been any software updates released in the app store.

This will be supported in the next release, unfortunately I still do not have a timeline on when it will be available.

How does certificates looks on your View connection server, and Security server (for external tunneling)? In our scenario both are self-signed and with different name (against "server address" name) - and it does not works from external (over tunneling) nor from internal network (with direct connection).

We are using self signed as well but have root and intermediate certs installed on the iPad so that the certs are trusted. Our security server cert is using a generic name (to prepare for load balancing). Our connection servers already are load balanced and have a generic name on that cert as well. Internal connection testing was both to the load balancing name and straight to a specific connection server. None of this setup changed when we upgraded to 5.1.....it was all in-place upgraded. I can't explain why yours isn't working with the iPad internal but it's a given at this point that it won't work external if tunneling through the security server.

I even had one of our firewall guys watch the logs as I tested and my iPad is only trying to come in via port 443 so it's at least not trying to use ports it shouldn't. It just apparently isn't negotiating with the security server correctly. We don't really have anything we can hit VMware up with on this because all of their clients (iPad, Android, Windows, and Mac) all work just fine. I don't see this as their problem and I'm certain they won't either.

Wyse claimed "day 1 support" of View 5.1 but they clearly didn't test it for PocketCloud contrary to the statements in this relase....

The last sentence of the 4th paragraph stating:
"Our PocketCloud software for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch & Android smartphones and tablet devices will also support View 5.1."
