Monitor PowerEdge C-Series IPMI

I've read the Dell PowerEdge C System Management Quick Start Guide, I've got the virtual KVM working on the server.

What I'm looking to do now is setup monitoring for the RAID and CMOS batteries, power supplies, and RAM.

What I don't know is exactly what I need to do to set this all up. I'm running Windows on both the server and the machine I would be monitoring the server from. The QSG recommends the IPMI tool, but this appears to only work on linux?

Can anyone help me out here?

Hello

IPMI is a non-proprietary method for system monitoring/management. There are a lot of programs that you can use for IPMI. There are IPMI applications for every operating system I can think of.

IPMI tool is great if you are wanting to do command line information gathering or changes. If you are just wanting to monitor the hardware then I would recommend looking for a monitoring application that is IPMI compatible.

Thanks
