If there's no free SATA connector on the power supply, you will need a SATA power splitter to split the lead that goes to the hard drive into two connectors.

You can find these at most computer shops - newegg, amazon, etc.

Thanks for your reply.  I purchased a SATA power splitter.  However, it doesn't connect to the DVD-RW drive.  The DVD drive has a single port containing two L-shaped connectors.  One is the SATA connector and what appears to be 7 'pins'.  The other connector appears to be 6 'pins'.  The SATA power splitter I purchased splits into two 15 'pin' connectors.  I am at a total loss.  There is no molex power connector on this drive as the picture shows.

Hi coribj,

The Opti 755 takes SATA drives, not IDE. You should be able to use any slimline SATA drive. Please refer to the manual for help. The slimline drive has a different connector such as the one shown here.

Thanks, osprey4, for your reply.  My Optiplex 755 DEFINITELY has an IDE DVD-ROM drive in it.  I have purchased a replacement slimline SATA DVD-RW drive.  I have perused the power cable to which you refer.  My system, however, has no available molex power connectors, which is my current problem.  The IDE DVD-ROM drive was connected to a transposer card that converted IDE to SATA (Dell YG554).  This card has a non-standard, e.g. not molex power connector.  It's, like, a little black 3 pin connector.
