Inspiron 15 7537 doesn't start.... looks dead

Two weeks after the end of the guarantee, my laptop refused to start (while I was using it normally few hours before)

Refuse to start means : nothing... really nothing... not even any of the two led in front of the case.

- I tried of course to press the power button a while to empty the electricity...nothing..,

- I tried to remove the battery and place back.... nothing

- I tried with a different charger... nothing

I have disassembled the laptop, I have removed the battery and CMOS battery... nothing... BUT, when I plug the cable, I see one led flashing once very fast (the HDD led).

I am afraid to change any part since I am not sure of the diagnostic. It doesn't look like a motherboard issue.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hi,

Thanks for writing to us.

Sorry to hear about the issue.

Looking at the symptoms looks to be an issue with motherboard.

You have tired almost all the troubleshooting, except taking out the memory modules and power up the machine without them. Please  try the step and update us how it goes.

Also does the charger light stays on all the time irrespective of connected to the system or not ??

REGARDS

Hi support,

I also got the same problem, my dell inspiron cannot start up. Only the led light on when I plug-in the charger.

I bought this dell laptop on Singapore, but I'm working in Viet Nam. So how can I get the support from your site? Please let me know.

Thanks,

Nhut Ma

Hi (Dell-)Hema,

Thank you first for your fast answer.

To complete my troubleshooting description:

1. I have tried without RAM modules -> nothing
2. The light stays on all the time on the charger while absolutely no light comes from any of the led on the machine
3. Few days ago, the procedure to remove the CMOS battery had produced results. It was working. But it was a one-time success. Since then, nothing

My only concern is to be reasonably sure that it is an issue with the motherboard.

Is there a channel to buy a new motherboard from DELL?
I leave in Belgium (Europe)

Thank you again for your help

Regards

Hello, Hema,

I am experiencing same issues with the same Inspiron 7535 model. The laptop is totally dead. It is not even 2 years old. Nothing comes up. It just happened while copying a file. The only difference I have is that when connecting the adapter the green LED on the adapter turns off immediately. This is the case with or without the battery and/or the hard drive. CMOS battery removal did nothing either. I am in US/California. This is my 4th Dell. Very disappointed on this one. Please advise.

Hi All,

I have the same problem: 3 year old  Inspiron 7537 with a dead motherboard!!!

3 years DELL? I thought you pay more for quality with DELL but that's apparently not the case anymore.

The warranty has ended by now obviously and I have to pay 1/3 of the original price for a repair. Really dissapointed with DELL. I won't be buy another DELL product in the future.
