No Internet connection -- Upgrading Vostro 3700 from Windows 7 to Windows 10

I successfully upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 on my Vostro 3500 computer, but when I tried to do the same on my Vostro 3700 running the very same operating system, I ran into trouble.

On the Vostro 3700 everything in Windows 10 seems to be okay, except I cannot connect to the Internet. To make Windows 7 run properly after a complete system wipe and reinstall, I had to install two network drivers which I obtained from the Dell site. They work in Windows 7, but one will not install in Windows 10.

If the Vostro 3500 can run Windows 10, it seems that the Vostro 3700 should be able to, also.

Both the 3500 and the 3700 were never tested to work with Windows 10.  That being the case, by installing it your on your own unfortunetly.  From what I have heard most Windows 7 drivers do not work with windows 10 and normally people would install Windows 8.1 drivers as a work around, but the 3700 doesn't seem to have anything available past Windows 7.  If you are dealing with the RealTek or Intel drivers, you can go to their websites and see if there is a work around or update of drivers for your particular card.

The update to Windows 10 works properly on my Vostro 3500. So why does it not not work on the Vostro 3700? They were purchased at the same time, and both were running Windows 7, and both were updated to Windows 10 in a period of two weeks or so. One works properly and connects to the Internet, and the other does not. Are you telling me that they are running different Network Adapter drivers?

Its actually very possible they run different hardware and drivers :-( The 3700 would be an upgrade of some sort to the 3500 usually, example the XPS 8500 is an upgrade to the XPS 8300 desktop and so forth.

EDIT: It appears the 3700 is in the same line as the 3500, only bigger being a 17in screen?  Regardless its looking like these computers were put out to market around 2010, so again if there is a different networking card in the 3700, it would be up to the chip set maker to provide Dell with the drivers which they didn't.
