I do not know this for a fact, but I have a Inspiron 8000 that is over 3 years old and I have used a 60 GB in the modular bay. I would think that a newer computer could do the same.
Now I know they do not know what they are talking about. The 60GB hard drive that I was referring to is a 7200 RPM and it worked just fine. It is a IBM (Hitachi) 7K60.
Can I get this 60 GB Internal 4200 RPM ATA-5/IDE Hard Drive for Dell Latitude D400 for my Inspiron 8500? Notice that Dell priced similar HDD for different series differently - the 60 GB Internal 4200 RPM ATA-5/IDE Hard Drive for Inspiron 8500 cost much more...
