xp with sp1 will allow that size hdd.
the major hurdle is if bios will recoginise the full capacity of your hdd.

Yes, that was also my concern... Anyone know how I can find out this?

 

(I suppose I could just buy a 250GB. Try it, and return it if it doesn't work...)
