Thanks for the reply. The disks are plenty fast enough. The problem seems to be that Dell published the wrong specs. There are numerous complaints about this.

Yes, publishing wrong specs, promising a fast product to customers but delivering a slow one, not admitting that this is an error made exclusively by Dell and not by customers!!!! This is really tough!
I propose a class action suit for all you guys in America who are annoyed by this customer policy of Dell.
I will be very happy to revert my opinion of this matter if I actually do see a Dell drive with the advertised specs!
