the E version is supposedly meant for 24/7 usage

hey jere

i got the e7k60 for similar reasons ( constant, almost 24/7 usage ) So far it has been pretty good . I say go for it, if you think you need it..

just remember, it has minimal power saving features, if any..

power consumption isn't bad..and it runs around 50-54 c on average for me..

i remeber seeing the 7k60 for about $220 somewhere..can't remeber where though..

bottom line; if you're getting the 7k60 for a good price, go for it. they're both good drives, but take the e7k60 if 24/7 usage is a priority

I have the E7K60 just for regular use on my Inspiron 5100. It's a great hard drive..no increase in temp but a noticable increase in speed. Battery life has been the same as my original 30 g 4200 rpm hard drive 3.5 hours normal use.

I think Dell has the E7K60 for around $220.00 currently.

Go for it you won't be sorry.
