Optiplex 3040 SFF - What is needed to run 3 monitors
Need a solution to run 3 monitors on an Optiplex 3040 SFF. Desktop has one HDMI and one DP integrated into motherboard.
Are there any inexpensive y-adapter solutions or would I need a new video card?
If new video card needed, any recommendations?

Most y adapters will only mirror/clone another monitor. It would not be an extended monitor. The validated video cards for the SFF 3040 are =
TC2P0 Low Profile Nvidia GTX 745 DVI-I/HDMI/VGA
HCPMK, X0CVJ Low Profile AMD Radeon R5 340X DP/DVI-I
N81X7 Low Profile AMD Radeon R7 350X DP/DVI-I
The Bios Video- MultiDisplay option should allow you to use both the added video card and the onboard Intel video out ports. Set Primary Display to the added video card.
