High performance grafic card upgrade for Inspiron 15 3000 for video cutting with Nero needed?
Hey guys,
My favourite is an Inspiron 15 3000. But I found the grafic card "AMD Radeon™ R7 M445 grafic card with 4 GB GDDR5" in a comparison list qualified as slow. I am not a gamer.
I´m only worried about the grafic card. I am not an IT freak, but generally I think a solid RAM of 8GB and and a SSD is more important.
2nd question: Can someone tell my whether the Inspiron 15 3000 can be upgraded to a hybrid with an additional HDD?

The GPU cannot be upgraded later, so be sure you can live with it permanently.
The system use a single standard 2.5" drive - you can use any 2.5" SATA hard drive, hybrid drive or solid state drive of 7 mm or slimmer height.

It isn't clear what you want to use the system for. If it's for web browsing and watching videos online, it will be fine. For any kind of gaming, or for video production or photo editing, the system isn't going to be capable - for that you really need to look at the XPS line as a bare minimum.

For long term storage I may use an external hard drive.
More important is the question regarding grafic card performance. Any suggestion?

ejn63, as you suggest it is for video production and photo slide shows - but not professional.
I use Nero 2015 Platinum software and the processing is very slow. When I work with three video streams and audio parallel my current computer goes on strike.

I checked the XPS. But hey, I do not want to buy Dell - I only need a computer.
Can anyone tell me what is more important for video cutting: powerfull CPU, lots of RAM, quick grafic card?

All three - in fact, this work is best done on a high-end desktop system. For a notebook, you need the fastest CPU, most RAM and best GPU you can get - essentially, the requirements are the same as they would be for top-tier gaming - best handled by a very fast system at the top tier of CPU, GPU and with 8-16G of RAM.

High end is no option. Video cutting is less than 5% of the work - only from time to time. I can live with a slightly slow performance - just no interruptions. Currently I (try to) work with a Lenovo B50-70 (Intel Core i3-4030U, 4GB Ram, 500GB HDD) which is mutch too weak. But it easily presents HD movies.
What´s the performance gain from i3 to i5 to i7 at the same clock speed?

Currently I work with a Lenovo B50-70 (Intel Core i3-4030U, 4GB Ram, 500GB HDD). It easily presents HD videos. But cutting videos it comes quickly to a stop-and-go. Probably the RAM is full after a few minutes?
What is te performance gain from i3 to i5 to i7 if you would consider the same clock speed?
