Laptop Drivers: Dell or up to date from OEM?

Hi all,

Is it best to install Dell vendor drivers or up to date OEM (e.g. Intel RST) drivers?

Please explain why. Thank you.

Dell laptop drivers are customized for each model. Always get them from Dell and only if you have a specific problem and are directed by a tech. Laptops rarely if ever need driver updates and updates would come from Dell for special reasons like a major operating system update. That is why many older laptops are not supported for windows 10. Intel says on their page--get drivers from the manufacturer. See this--

IMPORTANT:

Before installing this application or requesting technical support from Intel, first contact your system manufacturer. They typically provide software that is specifically configured for your system.

Should I tell Windows 10 to NOT update drivers? Or should I allow Windows 10 to update drivers? Thank you @Mary G
