What is the best way for Installing the Samsung 960 PRO NVMe M.2 1TB in Dell XPS 15 9550?

I have already Toshiba NVMe 1TB NVMe M.2 (Model Number THNSN51T02DU7 NVMe Toshiba 1024 GB,Serial Number 76GS10MUT61V, Firmware 57DA4103),so do you think it will be beneficial for me in term of speed and accessing the data?

Hi,

Welcome to our community.

You’ve reached the right department. To answer your question, you can surely proceed further in replacing the HDD Samsung 960 PRO NVMe M.2. Having said that, we request you to update BIOS before installing the new HDD. Let us know if you face any concerns.

You should search the other threads on the subject of the Samsung 960 EVO M.2 NVme before you proceed. There are several folks with boot up issues after installing this SSD especially in the XPS 8910 and XPS 8920 that in my opinion have not been resolved.

Thanks, but do you it will be beneficial for me compare to the existing Toshiba NVMe 1TB NVMe M.2drive?

Sure! you can compare between the two HDD's and then proceed in replacing. We just wanted to keep you informed that the Samsung 960 PRO NVMe M.2 1TB HDD is compatible with the system. Please make sure to update the BIOS before installing the HDD.

Lijo

Look at this comparison of the two SSDs: www.thessdreview.com/.../ . Since you own one I don't think it is worth it to buy the other.
