Re-docking a Latitude E7450 and USB devices failing

If I dock my laptop, fire it up and log into Windows, then I want to move away I undock and work away.  When i come back to my desk and re-dock the USB devices don't work anymore mainly being my keyboard and mouse.  I have a Dell c-dock.  The mouse and keyboard work fine on the laptop.

I've updated all the drivers and BIOS which were old but hasn't helped.

Any suggestions.

Thank you for your message.

What is the OS installed?

Try to remove all the docking profiles & check the functionality again.

For me to assist you better, please click on my Dell username & send a private message with the service tag, registered name & email address.

I've narrowed it down a bit more.  If I leave the lid open the mouse and keyboard work fine when re-docked but if I close the lid and re-dock the mouse and keyboard fail to work again.  The dock is an e-port plus.

Restart the computer & get into bios by tapping F2.

Check & change these settings.

Under System Configuration – Parallel port - Default should be AT

System Configuration– Serial port- Default should be COM1

Power management – USB wake support – Change to enabled

Dock Support on battery – Change to Enabled

Press F10 to save & exit.
