Inspiron N5030 won't boot HDD failure 2000-0146
Hi! Father-in-law dropped his laptop and it now won't boot. Will not boot into safe mode, or system restore, just hangs in both cases. Have managed to run Dell Pre-boot system assessment. Hard drive fails with code 2000-0146. Further testing revealed 0F00.1332 IRQ did not set in time. Am therefore presuming HDD is corrupted. A chkdsk may resolve this, but can't run chkdsk as we don't have any Dell DVDs. At this stage planning to replace HDD, but don't want to start as we don't have any Dell/Windows 7 or 10 installation DVDs. Is it possible to obtain official Dell Installation DVD? I have found
restore.solutions/.../ but don't know if this is 'official' or not? Thoughts, tests or comments most welcome. Andrew
