How to successfully toggle a latitude's boot from Legacy to UEFI?
Hi all,
I currently own two latitudes; a dell Latitude E6540 and a recently picked up Latitude D630. Am I able to use UEFI on the D630, first of all, and for the E6540, how to switch boot modes? (I'm running Windows 10, though he came to me running 7). I tried simply toggling the setting in BIOS but after doing so, I'm greeted with the nice message of no boot device found (even when my technician friend messes with it, he gets the same thing). Suggestions would be excellent. Thanks.

The D630 does not have UEFI - it's BIOS only.
To change from UEFI to legacy or vice versa, the hard drive needs to be repartitioned and Windows needs to be reinstalled.

Thanks for the hand, guys. I'll tell you, I'm pretty sure I did indeed attempt the toggle on the E6540 after a reinstall ... maybe I should have done it before ... Unless I forgot to repartition the drive as GPT? Hard to tell considering for me reinstalling the OS often means a sighted person taking time out of their day to do it ... Both Microsoft and the others need to collaborate on a talking interface ... something that UEFI could very easily do from my understanding of it, rather than focusing on so-called "secure boot". And thanks for the form ... I'll get that other computer transferred into my own name as soon as possible.

You are not able to use UEFI on the D630 because it does not have UEFI bios.
