Inspiron 15 5567, Freezes and lockups due to Intel Turbo Boost
Hi, I own a 1 month old Inspiron 15 5567 which lately started showing a black screen and freezing when loading windows. Long story short, after a lot of frustration, clean install and a bit of tech help I managed to pinpoint the problem to Intel Turbo Boost in the BIOS settings. Only by disabling this does my computer work. However, I would like to use Turbo Boost. Is there any way to fix this other than sending it to the lab? I have an i7 7500u processor.
Thanks for any help

Have you checked the website for a BIOS update? Chipset updates?

I've checked BIOS and it's up to date, I managed to install the Chipset drivers while Turbo Boost was off but as soon as i tried to turn it back on the problem persists - black screen and computer gets stuck. I think it's absurd that after only 1 month of me having this computer I get this frustrating problem...

I have left my PC at nearest Dell lab for inspection and asked for a new one in its stead I think it's only fair... After all this PC is only a month old and already defunct... Thanks a lot for your help!

I cannot find any Dell documentation that states that this is a known systemic issue. Perhaps your CPU is faulty. Contact Support to verify ownership, address, etc. Troubleshoot and see which service they can offer.
