Was working fine until today. Looks like the thunderbolt cable's symbol is no longer lighting up and nothing is being transferred to my laptop (usb's, dvi, ethernet cable). Has the cable defected in this case? I only had this dock for 2 weeks
The dock cables are actually removable, so if you happen to have access to another TB16, you can try swapping the cable with a known good unit. The manual available on support.dell.com shows how to do it, but basically there's a screw hiding under a rubber foot/flap on the underside of the dock where the cable attaches. Sorry to hear you're already having trouble!
There are some settings for the Thunderbolt devices which allow them to be recognized. If you open Thunderbolt settings there are a couple of options and one is override first device in chain restriction. It may not be that setting but mine has a checkmark so check your settings to see if you can change anything.
I do not remember if the light goes off when the battery is fully charged.
I don't know if Dell sells the Thunderbolt cable separately, and because Dell uses a proprietary connector on the dock side, you can't buy a standard Thunderbolt 3 cable. But if the cable turns out to be bad on testing, hopefully the dock is still under warranty. If it was purchased as an accessory add-on for a system, the dock would inherit the warranty of the system, fyi.

Hi howie9910
Please PM me with the Dell order number if you have it. I'll look into options for you.
