Dell Precision M4700 Graphic Card Issue

I've just restored a Precision M4700 with Windows 7.

It's got 8GB of DDR3 RAM and a nVidia Quadro K2000M which I believe has 2GB of memory

So why in Windows does it say installed memory 8GB, usable 7.88GB.

Does this mean it's using the Intel graphics by default. So how and when would it use the nVidia card?

Thanks

John

Hi teesvalleytech,

Thanks for posting.

This is a normal situation.  Yes, your computer will use the Intel graphics card by default, if the game or program you are using requires more graphics power, it will switch to the nVidia card.  This can not be manually changed.  en.community.dell.com/.../19664003
