Dell Client Statement on Intel ME/TXE Advisory (INTEL-SA-00086) - poor response from Dell
So far the advisory: www.dell.com/.../dell-client-statement-on-intel-me-txe-advisory--intel-sa-00086- has changed the date twice for my commercial laptops. Contacting so-called Philippines based business support is an exercise in futility as all they do is to escalate.
All our HP business laptops were updated a week and a half ago.
Dell should offer the facility to disable ME.
Dell modified its online store to allow customers to buy Intel-powered computers without Intel's Management Engine. i.imgur.com/BmGcHM3.png

Dell have changed the update dates for my laptops for the fifth time!
Does anyone at Dell have a clue?

They do not even bother to update the advisory:

Updates for many models are classified as available 12-08-2017!

Lenovo and HP have provided updates but Dell have now changed the update date for the third time to 12-22-2017, having missed 12-01-2017 and 12-08-2017 for my models. If the two mentioned players can provide the updates then why does the same not apply to Dell?

Hi Azeu,
I had the same question come up to me at the DellCaresPro Twitter account. As a result I personally submitted an internal case on Monday in order to have the document updated. The update process is still ongoing.
What models do you have? I'll find out the status on those. You can send me a friend request if you like.
Some people were asking about an at-time-of-sale ME disable option for Dev edition units. I looked in to one model so far: XPS 13 9360 Dev Edition. I obtained the below results:
-XPS 13 9360: does not and in the future will not have a factory ME disable option
-XPS 13 9370: will have a factory ME disable option that can be asked for at time of sale
