Thank you, Jim. Do I need to change them into something other than JPEG? If you were giving someone photos that you took for them, would you put them on a CD? If not, how would you give them? Thanks again.

PS, If I need to convert them from JPEGS, how do I do that?
As long as you are not expecting a slide show, storing your files on a CD is simply a Data CD.
Simply tell it you are making a Data CD and select your files and Add them to the CD setup. Be sure to finalize the CD so that it will be readable.
Even though they may not fill a CD, I would never trust using multi-sessions with the hope of adding more latter. Better to have 5 or 6 partial CDs than one that is nearly full, but fails during finalizing!
Of course you can combine all of them later and make a CD that is full.
If your pictures are irreplaceable make two of them and store the CDs separately.
Cakes,
In the business section of our local newspaper a few weeks ago they discussed ways of putting pictures on CD's to share with family and friends as well as keep for your own enjoyment. They said they knew of only 2 software programs that did a good job one of which is currently a FREE download! Having recently gotten a digital camera I was very interested. The program is simple to use and allows you to create albums of pictures and, in turn, create a CD with their Album CD Wizard. The normal Album screen shows thumbnails down the left side and one of them enlarged on the rest of the screen and can include the file name you have assigned the picture. You can choose to have them viewed just like a slide show or you can click on them one at a time and view the large image individually. The CD created can be viewed on any computer because it contains the necessary files to allow for this. It uses JPEG files and sounds like the very thing for you. To get it go to:
http://www.xydot.com/ . You will get a very simple screen - the first item under "products" is Album Generator and Viewer. Choose it and it not only tells you all about how it came to be but allows you to download it. You won't be sorry!

Thank you for the tip on the software. I did manage to put the pictures on a cd, but not only could my friend not view them, putting in the disc crashed both of her computers! Any ideas why? I 'closed' the disc, I thought that meant it could be viewed by any pc. How did I make a cd that only I can use? Thank you in advance.

"viewed by any PC" is phrase usually asssociated with Direct CD. The other person's computer must have a "UDF" reader in order for the Disc to be read. Are you in fact using Direct CD to make the Disc?
Cakes - Did you download and use Album GV to make your CD? If you did and the other computer doesn't have a reader on it all they have to do is open the CD file in My Computer and click on the "obvious" .exe file - has a CD on it, etc. and the camera will come up with your albums. I have only been using CD-RW disk so far and not finalizing them. From the beginning they worked on not only my computer but my husband's as well. You can also download a reader. I use Roxio and downloaded one from there recently but this was AFTER I was able to view the pictures as described above. Once I downloaded the reader the "Camera" comes up when the CD is inserted.

How do I create a Photo Slideshow CD? I have done this before with another PC but my new Dell produces CD that cannot be read by my TV DVD player. But it will produce readable DVD slideshows.
