Headphone jacks not detecting my earphones
I have an Alienware 15 for about 2 months now and I've decided to try out my audio jacks. Upon putting in my earphones (which is working on my cellphone), my laptop doesn't detect any earphones. Tried another type of earphones but ended up with the same result. Please help.

Is the jack an Earphone jack or a Headset jack (with mic)?
Does whatever you are pugging in match?
The contact-rings are different between the two. Just because your phone accepts both kinds, don't assume the laptop does also. There are various after-market converters available (analog and digital/usb).

Tried re installing the audio driver then it was fixed. Had a friend with a similar problem. He says it was because he upgraded to Windows 10, which is the same case as mine. Thanks for the answers.
