Received your system?
Due to the amount of delays AW is having, I thought it would be a good idea to kind of track the build progress of these systems, or at least have a guess.
Please post your order date, system type (just the model), and your shipping date.

It'd almost be quicker to just buy an Alienware Area 51 from Best Buy. :P They say they will ship it within one business day.
Pretty sad, Dell.

Wow my original order on the 5th now shows as canceled, what the hell? and a new order has been made today and is processing? and the EDD is on 3/8........ what's going?

Don't worry you weren't going to get it on the original EDD... and you won't get it on 3/8 either. Oh... and don't bother calling Dell because they'll either a) lie to you or b) not know what's going on.

Dell just sucks all around, its like we try to give them our money and they don't want to take it, the customer service sucks and all you hear is lies, lies, lies. I am going to purchase laptop somewhere else maybe HP or Newegg

It is amazing how Dell takes orders,puts them in "production" and then cancels them.Then reorders them. It reminds me of a dog chasing its tail.. But on another note,I have been blogging with some people on computer building sites. I have heard the following comment ,related to the Dell problems. Aperantly Dell hired some new guy (CEO or something like that ) that came in and chjange a bunch of stuff around,then quit after a couple of months. Anyone herd about this ?

Did you take a look at the canceled order form and compare it to the new order form. When they did that to mine the slot loaded DVD was changed to the tray loaded DVD. so what did they change on your there has to be a reason for changing it.

Well i haven't checked yet... but they just told me it was because some parts were back ordered, but they didn't say what parts or part. I'll give em until the 8th of march if there's anymore delays i'm canceling on the 5th of march, i belive you can cancel after a month if they haven't shipped it to you right?

I canceled my order on 2/13 because i ordered it on 1/15 and it was pushed back to the 22nd. I canceled reordered with better components which i should have had gotten the first time. I also got my Boeing EPP discount which saved me a lot of money.

Cancelled my order this morning. The Resolution specialist offered me $100 gift card. I declined. I'm going to go with Falcon Northwest.
Thought I'd let you guys know that my order won't be competing for parts from yours. Good hunting. After about 15 years, I'm no longer a Dell customer. Maybe I'll come back one day.

Sorry to hear that, Evil. Let us know about your experience with HP....hopefully that giant company isn't having similar issues delivering their premium brand of PCs.

Yikes.....all this is very troubling. Made my order 5 days ago. On the confirmation email I got an estimated ship date of March 3. I've already checked out Falcon NW and Velocity Micro. A bit more expensive but I'll pull the plug on this if I get one delay. My area 51 is pretty much stock.....I think a got a few days tacked on for including a GTX 285 though.

UPDATE
Maybe light at the end of tunnel. I Just checked order status at 1-800-Alienware. My order went from in production to being prepared to ship. Does anyone know more about this stage. How long does it stay in this stage? Good luck to all.
