Alienware X51 R2 - Creator's Update Bios Problem

Hi,

I've just received the creator's update and have installed it successfully.
However, while installing I've had some problems with the Alienware X51 R2 getting stuck at the alienware head logo while booting...
I've managed to install the update correctly, though I'm still having this issue where my system is getting stuck every time I boot my PC. It get's stuck at the head logo and I have to use CTRL+ALT+DEL to make the system restart itself and then the booting completes without any problems...
To solve this issue I updated my Bios to the new version (A12 -> support for RS2 update) but it didn't solve the issue...

Anyone know any Bios settings I have to change or any other solution to this problem?

Thanks in advance!

Alright, I enabled secure boot in the BIOS and everything is working as it should now.

So for the people who have the same issue, try enabling secure boot in the BIOS settings.

did you reset the BIOS Settings after BIOS Update?

No, I didn't. Is it required or recommended after every bios update?
I've entered the bios and when I try to reset to defaults it asks me if it's okay to load defaults and also that the secure boot keys will change. Is it okay to do so? Or will I need to reinstall windows?

Thanks a lot!

I flashed A12 to upgrade from A07. I have a x51 r2, It wont boot, it just sits at the alien screen with the bios info. The only way i can get it to boot is by pressing f12. I have tried download a07 and re flashing in windows but it says that it cant get authorization to flash.

I will try enabling secure boot when i get home later on.

Problem solved. I changed from legacy to uefi. Had to reboot a couple of times for it to take hold, but Eureka! I fixed it.

Yeah, some settings to check when you've updated  your Alienware: UEFI and secure boot!

Glad you fixed it!

I upgraded from A09 to A12 and got the same issue. I could not change safe boot but changing from legacy to UEFI BIOS sorted the issue for me.

THANK YOU !!!!     I've been fighting this problem for a few weeks, reloaded windows and just couldn't figure it out.    So I moved up to R12 bios, set it to secure boot and UEFI.    IT WORKS !!!

Thank you VERY much !~
