new battery and new adapter still wont charge please help!!

Hey guys thanks for reading

I have had so many problems with my Alienware M17x a lot of which is the fact it has pretty much never charged from the day I got it, anyways i have been made to buy a brand new battery and a brand new ac adapter... guess what still dosn't work i can get my system on but that's about it.

because of this a 3000 pound laptop runs terribly wont play barely anything with move than 5 FPS!  

Any help would be great please.

Hello Peter…Alienware!

You can try to perform a power drain and you can try to flash the BIOS to the latest version you find on support.dell.com, but if that doesn’t work there might be a motherboard failure.

Could you please tell me how to do both please would love to get my laptop running correctly im sure you can apreciate these are not cheap computers :P

Sure, in order to do a power drain you just have to remove the battery, the ac adapter and hold the power button for 40 seconds.

Then to flash the BIOS you can follow the steps on this article.

the bios on my m11x r2 has a tab for battery behavior. enable battery charges..... disabled battery will not charge...... seems simple but worth a check to see if your bios has something similar twcom........ lean mean and mobile m11x r2 m18x r2 recon 3d omega

Flash is stuck at 7 of 70 and i cannot do anything with my laptop now wont turn off been like this for hours

UPDATE! i have now managed to do the flash to no avail all problems still here... what else could be the problem? i have had this computer into 2 different repair shops both charging tons and fixing nothing! can imagine the stress this is causing now :/ just want my supposed awesome gaming machine to work! 

if i take it to yet another shop and they tell me to buy another part for no reason i shall explode ! haha

If you had replaced the battery and the ac adapter for new ones and you flashed the BIOS and the issue persisted, then there could be a problem with the motherboard.
