U2718Q, Apple OS, Firmware M2B102, error

This firmware gets the APPLICATION QUIT UNEXPECTEDLY error every time.

I'm running macOS Sierra 10.12.6

Is there a solution for this??

I need absolute color accuracy since I will be editing photos and video with this monitor.

I WILL RETURN THIS TO STORE IF I CAN'T RUN THIS FIRMWARE UPDATE.  The only reason I felt ok buying this monitor and not the older version was cause I found this firmware update fixed the color gain issue.  I want a 4K display so I will buy another brand if I have to.

earthsleep,

The U2718Q must be connected to a true Windows computer to run the firmware update. Dell never tested/validated the U2718Q on the Apple proprietary hardware, operating system (including Windows Bootcamp), and drivers.
* The U2718Q sales site Tech Specs specifically states, "Operating system supported Windows 10, 8.1, 7"
* When you open the U2718Q User's Guide, there is no mention of Apple
* When you open the U2718Q driver page and check the operating system list, there is no mention of Apple
* When you go to the M2B102 firmware page, there is no mention of Apple under "Supported Operating Systems"

Hi Chris,

I'm considering buying the U2718Q, for use with a Mac. Do you know if the latest shipments of this monitor might have the problems already fixed and not require the firmware update?

Thanks!

If purchased new directly from Dell, it will have the latest firmware installed on it. All resellers will have older firmware monitors. But, the M2B102 fixes were only for tested Dell Windows PC and hardware, not Apple. You would be best suited to ask the Apple users on their Forum for their experience with the U2718Q.
