Adding ODD to Precision 5820 Tower
I just purchased a Precision 5820 Tower without an ODD and would like to add an ODD that I had on hand. The problem is that I cannot find a power connector to use for adding the drive. Can anyone tell me what I need to accomplish this?

Hello,
6in Slimline SATA to SATA Adapter with Power
Your system should have the power and cable for a slim line optical installed with two screws that you can remove to get to the slim SATA with power connector and this adapter will convert it to a regular SATA with power and should reach an add in SATA optical drive.
I did this with mine.

Will this work if the system also has a slimline drive installed?

The cable you refer to on Amazon is opposite to what is needed.
You need a slimline sata/power male connector and a sata/power female connector since you will be connecting it to the existing slimline sata/power female connector removed from the slot where a slimline drive would go and then connecting the sata end to the ODD drive in the 5.25 inch bay.
I bought the cable you referred to but had to return it and then bought the correct one also from Amazon.
