Invisible999,

Thank you for using Dell's Community Forum.

To my knowledge, you can’t connect a CD/DVD drive up externally on that system.
Also, I don’t know of any empty modular dvd/cd case.

Well, now situation is easyer. I removed original CD-ROm drive from modular bay and Toshiba's drive fits there just right. The only porblem I have is a faceplate. The faceplate from CD-ROM drive does not fit Toshiba's drive, it should have its own.

I DO KNOW that the faceplate for Toshiba SD-R6012 does exist for moduar bay drive. My main question is what is part # and where to buy it. Simple.

Please help

I have a Toshiba SD-C2502 DVD-Rom drive that I have used in a C600.  Like you, I upgraded a bare CD-ROM drive with aToshiba DVD drive, and had to find a front faceplate bezel to fit the drive.

I finally found a face plate on eBay that fit perfectly without needing the corners grounded down.  The Part Number is : PN 4741P (It has "DVD-ROM" raised lettering on the front of the plastic faceplate, and is not a blank generic bezel.).

There was no DPN number, just a PN number.

I do not know with a 100% certainty if the faceplate from the Toshiba SD-C2502 will fit the R6012, but it's worth a shot since some people have posted that faceplates fit most drives from the same manufacturer.  (I.e. I know that this particular bezel will fit also fit a Toshiba SD-C2402.)

Good luck.

Thank you VERY much for such info.

Could you tell me, if I'm not able to find this part on ebay, is there a way to order it directly from Dell? If yes - how, in which department?

Dell Spare Parts Phone 800-999-3355 extension 69937 (if in the US).  I don't know the numbers for worldwide (i.e. UK, etc., but I'm sure you can look it up somehow by searching the forums)
