No sign of a floppy drive after instalation

Question

I have a Dimention 2400 wich was purchased without a floppy drive. I have instaled a floppy but 1...it is not detected as new hardware found 2...Drivers seem to be there but no indication of a drive in my computer. 3... It seems there is no power running to the drive, although all other drives are working. What is the problem?and am I doing something wrong or am i not doing something?

Yes, all cable's are attached, i even installed a known working floppy and have the same problem.

On your Dimension, did you plug in the data cable AND the power cable?

Did you (F2) into BIOS and enable all of the floppy drive controller settings? They will be off by default since you had no FDD to begin with.
