VCB 1.5 with networker 7.4.3-Licensing question

Hi Guys,

I hp someone can give me an answer on this. I finally configured my VCB to backup full VM and file level of my VI3 infrastructure. But noticed that every virtual machine is consuming a client connection.

I was under the impression that under 7.4.3, they only take a license for every physical ESX host that is in your environment not for every virtual host. Do I need to by a special license for that ?

I called my EMC local sales Rep. And she does not have a clue of what I am saying (but she will get back to me. Don't they all say that ?).

Missed the last point, yes you do need a special license - see page 14-15 of the release notes for Networker 7.4

Hello David,

Thanks for the info, I was wondering what is was for. Under Physical host, do I put in my virtual center hostname or the actual physicla ESX hostname that the vm is resided.

There is a tickbox in the client configuration for the client to be a virtual client - tick that and it should use the VCB license...

Ok Got this back from my EMC local sales rep. You will definitely need a VCC license in order to get away with trditionnal CC license.

Cost: 2000$ USD each. ouch!!!!
