InsightIQ - How to upgrade without deploying a new ova.
We need to upgrade our InsightIQ vm without deploying a new vm.
I found that OS is exactly the same, so replacing the correct directories should be enough.
Anybody have experience with the same?

How to install the rpm Because We have the procedure in the installation guide, but I executed the command, the command wasn't exist

¿What version of insight iq are you running the commands?
Because I run the command in insightiq 2 and I want to update to version 2.5
and after the version 3

so, I'm ready to upgrade from 2.5 to 3.0. I'm not the sharpest VM guy but I know that we deployed 2.5 with a OVA file. Our VM guys deployed it and I logged into the console and ran the setup, configured, etc.
Now, I want to simply upgrade to 3.0.
Do I need to give the 3.0 OVA file to the VM guys and have them deploy the new OVA or is there a true "upgrade" set of instructions?
I'm having our VM guys make a snapshot of the VM because I'm not clear on how well the upgrade process will work.
Please advise,

No need to deploy another OVA. Have your VM guy take a snapshot of that VM so you can easily roll it back in case the upgrade go sour.
Download the rpm package for IIQ 3.0 from here https://support.emc.com/downloads/15208_Isilon-InsightIQ
SCP that package to the appliance, login to the appliance and start the upgrade
sudo yum upgrade isilon-insightiq-3.0.0.0036-1.x86_64.rpm (or whatever the package name is, looks like 3.0.1 is out)

I would add that you need free space in your /datastore (local or otherwise) as the upgrade from 2.5.2 to 3.0 will upgrade the data tables as well.
But it is in-place!
You will need to go to 3.0 before going to 3.0.1, but it too is an rpm that can be used to upgrade both VMs and stand alone installations of InsightIQ.

I cant get out of our network and it appears that we need to get some additional files for the installation. Does anyone know what additional files in addition to the insight3.0 rpm file that is needed for a successful installation?

Worked perfectly for IIQ 3.01 vApp upgrade to 3.1.
3.1 has higher requirements for CPU and Memory, changed to 4 Core/16GB

If we upgrade from 2.5 to 3.01, does it carry forward the old data(File system reporting) in data store.

The FSA data is kept on the cluster itself; it is upgraded and retained.
You will need to go to 3.0 before going to 3.0.1.
