Why ACLX device on a Vmax is shown as WD. My query is does this device status changes during the configuration changes ?

Why ACLX device on a Vmax is shown as WD. My query is does this device status changes during the configuration changes ?

The ACLX device does not actually store any data/information so does not need to ever be RW and it will not change to RW unless manually set as such which is not recommended.

To add to what Cody stated, the ACLX is really only needed for the intial setup of the array until gatekeepers can be masked to your management hosts (and it is really not even needed for that anymore with SMC/Unisphere running on the Service Processor). Once you have gatekeepers masked to hosts running Solutions Enabler you can unmap the ACLX from the frontend ports.
