CX4-120 FLARE code upgrade

Hi there,

We are planning to upgrade latest FLARE patch level in our two Clariion CX4-120 boxes.

These two boxes in Mirrorview/A replication and currently running with same FLARE patch level.

Please clarify me on the below queries,

Our upgrade plan is DC first and after a week we will upgrade DR site. is this ok?

Is it ok to run DC with latest code and DR with current code until DR upgrade?

Hope Flare upgrade is NDU, During upgrade is there any impact in Mirrorview/A replication?

How do we check compatibility with latest FLARE code and all other dependencies like HBA driver, HBA firmware, SAN switch FOS, Host agent? do we have any portal/matrix for compatibility check like NetApp's IMT portal?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

You can use E-Lab navigator to verify compatibility

Was your question answered correctly? If so, please remember to mark your question Answered when you get the correct answer and award points to the person providing the answer. This helps others searching for a similar issue.

For Flare upgrades when you have two arrays mirroring, EMC recommends that you upgrade the DR side first, then the Source side second. As for Mirrorview running while the upgrades are taking places, I would recommend that you stop Mirrorview during the NDU. It is supposed to work during NDU but as you're using Async mirroring it's not that bad to stop while withe NDU is running. Remember that Write cache is disabled during an NDU and that will affect performance.
