VMware Image Backup - 7.1: Datastore does not have enough free space for snapshot

We recently upgraded from 6.1 to 7.1 last week. Since then, I am unable to get a VMware image backup on a VM that has a datastore full. This VM is an ERP reporting server running on RHEL that utilizes some PCIe SSD for processing at night. This VMDK on this datastore is set to Independent - Persistent to prevent snapshots, but for some reason Avamar is still trying to run a backup. Before 7.1, we had no issues, but no matter what I try it will not backup. I even created a new dataset that only specifies the OS vmdks, but it still gives me the same error. Is there something I'm missing? All the proxies have been upgraded to 7.1. Any help would be appreciated!
