how to add a switch to an existing fabric

Hello,

I have only done this task one time before so I am a little rusty. I need to add a switch into an existing fabric, actually one in each fabric A and B. I will configure the switches, then assign it a domain id greater than the core switch.

I don't remember what to do after that, and I can't seem to find the answer in the DCNM manual. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

so when I add this or merge this switch into the fabric, will that cause any disruption? Just trying to gauge how far I can go with this during the work day, and what tasks I need to do during this weekend.

Thanks again, and so sorry for all of the questions! Excited that I am finally getting to go to MDS training in a couple weeks.

Thanks again Dyanmox for your help. All is going good and I am going to create the port channel. I created the ISL and it's up and running. I had to that because we had issues with the new patch panel that got installed and in order to test it, I had to bring up the ports. The ISL link appears in the correct panel on DCNM.  I would like to create this in VSAN 200, and just copy the attributes.Do I need to put this in VSAN1 ? Also, I haven't hit the finish key yet. It says it will be disruptive to create this, seems simple enough, but will the disruption be only on that port channel or the entire switch.

Thanks again!

i am not sure where you are at in the config right now, ports used for port-channel can be left in VSAN 1, you just need to make sure to trunk the correct VSAN.

Thanks again Dynamox, two E ports are trunked, Ports are in VSAN 200. Trunk looks fine.

Now I want to create the port channel. So should I put the E ports back in VSAN 1, and just create the port-channel for VSAN 200?

Sorry for all the questions, and for not following the original steps you gave me. Had to fix some issues with hardware.
