Dell EMC Unity Laptop Demo Install error

Hello,

I am trying to install the Unity laptop demo on my Windows7 VM running on my Mac with Fusion 8.1.1.  It appears that the Anywhere installer thinks there are multiple instances running and quits.  See the attached screen shot.  This seem to be an issue within the Fusion VM since I can install it on my home PC.

Checking Anywhere's support website, there is an article that indicates there is a .tmp file that might need to be deleted in my home directory, but I am unable to find it.

Has anyone tried to install this demo on a Windows VM?

It is also available via the Unity ECN area ; scroll down to the “Learn” section…

I clicked the link of "Learn" adn Clicked "Unity Laptop Demo",but there is no link to download

this is the link after i clicked "Unity Laptop Demo" ,BTW,I'm a partner,not EMCer. !

did you login to ECN / emc.com ?

without login i only get to see a video - with login there is a download option

Hmmh - I have asked a Partner to verify and he was able to download via the link.

I know that sometimes the single-sign-on is acting up

Alternate way to find it is login to emc.com and enter "Unity Simulator" in the search box in the upper right corner.

download link should be one of the first results

File should be a exe file with a size of around 93 MB

let me know if that works

Then I would suggest to talk to your local partner TC to have your account checked

Cathal,

as an EMC employee I would suggest you ask product management via pre sales support center or unity answer desk whether the GUI simulator can be supported on MacOS with Fusion
