Vostro 5459, No Audio Output Device is installed

Hi all, Lately my laptop has no audio, says 'No Audio Output Device is installed'. So I go the device manager and find 'High Definition Audio Device' under sounds tab missing. I go under system devices and find no device that has an exclamation mark. I already updated my drivers but it's still missing. But here's the weird thing, every now and then the audio would work and when i check the device manager again, the high definition audio device is there and working,i tried updating it but it says its already updated. The next day it's gone again. I tried doing all kinds of things people suggested but it still wouldn't work.

Hi acidvelt,

Thanks for posting.  Apoolgies that your system is not performing as expected.

Audio issues can be very frustrating, hopefully we can get this resolved for you quickly.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the audio drivers?

Uninstall the Audio drivers through Device manager.

Please follow the steps given here to uninstall and then reinstall the Display drivers.

a) Press Windows +X keys on the keyboard.

b) Select Device Manager.

c) Find and Audio inputs and outputs and expand it.

d) Right-click the available drivers, and click uninstall.

e) Click on OK if it prompts.

f) Follow the onscreen instructions to Uninstall audio drivers.

g) Reboot the computer and Windows will automatically installs the audio drivers.

Here is information from the Dell knowledge base you may find helpful:

The Service Tag number you provided is for the Vostro 5459, not the Inspiron 5459? See my private message to you.

Dear Chris

I have same issue here

It's says: "No speakers or headphones are plugged in", when i highlight speaker icon.

Before it, i already tested the speaker on Diagnostic Toll (F12), the sound is came out. and it's say no-problem.

And also i have try all Driver to install it. But it's not working.
