Dell PowerEdge R510 health alarm

Hello, it's me again with a question,

We have a Dell PowerEdge R510 running as a NAS server. it's running Windows Server 2016.

We noticed there is a red light blinking under the power button. I know there is something wrong with it, I just can't figure out what. All disks in it are giving me green lights. the Power modules also have green lights.

How can I find out what is wrong with this server?

Thanks in advance,

Kind regards,

Bjorn

The easiest thing to do would be to log into the iDRAC and check the SEL, if you can. If the iDRAC isn't an option, then the next tool you could use to check would be OpenManage Server Administrator. You can install that and then view the system log.

Try pushing the cursive 'i' button on the front. Blinking light usually means the identify function is enabled - a blinking light to indicate the server you are looking for in a rack, from either the front or the back. Pushing the 'i' button will toggle identify on and off.

There is a display module on the front of that server that should show you an error message, if there is indeed an error.

Hello,

We were able to fix it through OpenManage Server Administrator.

It was the CMOS battery that failed. After replacing this, the alarm was gone.

Thank you for the help.

Kind regards,
