Unassigned Disk - Unassigned Reason - Managed by another system?

Hi,

We had a drive fail on our SCv2020, and a replacement was sent out to us.

We had out data centre staff swap the disks and I then went on to the Dell Storage Manager Client.

The replaced disk is showing in the Storage Tab as an Unassigned disk.

The Unassigned Reason is listed as Managed by another system.

If I right click the disk I get:

Show > Show In Storage Tab

Show > Show in Hardware Tab

Indicator On

Request Swap Clear

No option to manage or use the disk.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Do you have any options under manage unassigned disks? Page 137 http://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/dell-compellent-sc4020_administrator%20guide4_en-us.pdf

Hi,

Thank you for that.

The item you point out says that once I am viewing the Disks in Storage, "Click Manage Unassigned Disks. "

Where is that option / button? I don't see it.

I only have the options in the top right to Scan for Disks or Rebalance RAID.

Can you solve this? I'm going through the same problem. Only these options appear.

click on the the "unassigned" folder under disks.  Then the "managed unassigned" option will become visible
