E7240 and DDR3-1866 ... anyone running this way?

I just picked up a used Latitude E7240 with 1x8GB DDR3-1600.  Crucial scanned my laptop and says that DDR3-1866 is compatible with this Dell model.

So, anyone else have this configuration?  Does it run at 1866 speeds or does the hardware/BIOS throttle it back?

Welcome to the Dell Community  @Bardi

The memory will run at what the CPU or system board is rated for.

What CPU do you have installed???

You can have faster memory and it will clock down to what the CPU is rated for.

Thank you for the link.  I will track down the identical 8GB RAM to give me 16GB total.
