Check to see what the SATA operation is set to aka ATA AHCI or IRRT.

Remove cmos battery.

Reset Sata to whatever mode boots to avoid STOP 7B inaccessable boot.

Windows feature updates disable usb3 ports.

Clean install may be your only option.

780 does not come with win10 drivers.

All of the drivers are in a single WIN7 cab file.  Move the cab file to the my documents folder.  Then extract with 7zip.

They must be extracted using 7zip.

@speedstep Is this something I have to do in Windows?  I can't log into Windows as there is no port on the tower for me to plug in a keyboard or mouse to that isn't a USB port.

SATA is set to ATA.  The only other option is to set it to AHCI.

DISCONNECT data cable for hard drive. note what sata operation is set to.

aka  ATA  AHCI RAID ON

That will allow F2 cmos setup clearing.

Clean install of windows may be only solution at this point.

you need to look in F2 bios and in there turn on all USB ports.

AHCI is my guess where it was before, for sure NOT RAID ever, for home use.

the update must have scrambled the BIOS settings

is the RTC COIN CELL BAD as all 780s are now, this old.???? that be first.  not flashing BIOS first ,ever.

now 11 year old battery there, why run that ever, if true.????????

once BIOS is set back to correct,  (and w10 fails) and new battery first.

boot w10  3 times to it might do the auto corrections needed, 3 times rule w10,

If its ata clear the cmos and F2 setup sata operation back to ATA.

It should then restart without issue.

There are MANY Google hits for past W10 updates bricking the USB ports, so I'd be more inclined to believe W10 is at fault.

But an F2 reset to BIOS defaults probably wouldn't hurt.  You could also try installing an older BIOS version to see if you get them back.

Have you tried hitting F8 at boot to boot Windows 10 into Safe Mode?

If you can get into Safe Mode, and the USB ports work there, immediately run Windows Update, and get all the latest updates.

Then reboot, try a normal W10 boot, and if the USB ports are still working, run Update again, just in case some of the updates installed in Safe Mode need reinstalling.  If not, reboot into Safe, and check to see if it has KB4515384 installed, if so, remove it, that update has caused USB issues for some.

For future reference, include more details when possible  - note WHICH 780 you have - Tower, Desktop, SFF, or USFF.  It can sometimes matter (though probably not in this case, as the BIOS works across all of them).  Note which BIOS you installed (I'm assuming A15).  Note if it really was JUST after installing that BIOS, or whether you booted into Windows first, then restarted and lost them.  Note what Build of Windows you are running.

I have multiple 780 Tower systems, and multiple 780 SFF systems.  All were updated to A15 BIOS and to Windows 10 back when the "drop dead" upgrade date was looming, none had a USB issue.  But they've been unplugged since then, so are very out of date.  If you can tell me which type you have, which BIOS, and which Windows version, I can try to recreate it.

Assuming you still have the problem anymore, of course...
