Hi Black Velvet,

In theory it should not matter, the majority of vendors such as Dell have been using CS for many years now.
I am still from the "old" school and simply like the MS / SL settings. If you have problem with CS then do try MS /SL. To stay true to Dell form, use CS, just do not us CS for one and MS or SL for the other drive.

Best Regards

Hi B-V,

I got your PM, sorry for not getting back to you sooner, been somewhat busy with work. Yes, it is unfortunate the firmware trashed the drive, something that can happen at times.
True story, I was at a friend`s house and he was in the process of flashing his CD/RW and his heat pump kicked on, I saw his system blink ever so slightly, the flash failed and we were not able to recover the drive.
Another good reason to use a APS with one`s PC.

Glad the new drive is working fine and fast as well.

Take care
