You can not save directly to the CDRW disc.  Save to the hard drive, then
to the CDRW disc.  Next, the disc has to be written to by way of the writing
software or the disc can be formatted for packet writing then the files can be
"dragged" onto the disc.

If you are going to use CDRW discs, make sure you are using discs that are
speed compatible with your drive.

The Samsung DVD-ROM SD616E is a read only DVD drive and is not
capable of burning CDs.  If you want to burn CDs you will need
to obtain a CDRW drive or a DVD burner.

Hi Kim,

Welcome to Dell`s Forum !
In order to save the files to as you wish, you must first have a drive that supports writing to optical media. If your D: drive is a standard DVD-ROM, it cannot do this.
You will need a CD/RW drive or a DVD/RW drive, please if possible list the model / name of the drives and someone here can verify the drives you have.

Best Regards

God, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
the good fortune to run into the ones I do and the eyesight to tell the
difference.
