Hello,

You are welcome.  As the product is end-of-life there is no development of new features.  Also a webserver and HTML GUI would require significant resources that would impact array performance.

If you have SANHQ installed that would allow you to do a lot of monitoring of the group without need the Group Java GUI.

Don

Hello,

No, there is no alternative GUI to manage EQL arrays.  The webserver on the arrays is only there to provide the Java applet.

You can manage the group from the Group CLI.

Hello

You are most welcome.  Also, with SANHQ you can enable Support Assist.  Which can automatically create a case if a HW failure is detected.  Additionally, you can enable sending of performance data.  The benefit of this is when you have a case, historical data from your group is available. This combined with exporting a SANHQ archive can really assist in triage.  Especially, performance issues.

If you haven't already done so, all EQL arrays should be running 10.0.3 firmware.  It is extremely stable and has all available fixes.

 Regards,

Don

The given answer is only 99.9% correct. There is another way(GUI) to manage  a EQL. The Dell SC was the succesor of the SC and to makes the migration easier the SC solution can manage SC and PS as well. Unfortunately it comes only with 50% or less of the available PS config tasks but it might be  enough to manage a already configured Group of PS.
The 2nd. drawback it that the SC management is also based on JAVA but the Windows GUI comes with embedded JRE so it will work.

What you need is

  1. Dell Storage Manager DataCollector (formaly known as EnterpriseManager) as a vSphere Appliance or Windows software
  2. The Dell Storager Manager Client (Windowns and Linux)
  3. dsmdc.PNG

Hello,

True, but it seems like the original poster wanted to remove Java entirely from the process. Also, assumes you replaced EQL with SC storage.

Don
