DOES LSI make AIC-7901?
Nearly the same question was answered here:

I contacted Dell support on the availability of Windows 64 drivers for their on-board controller & raid cards and was informed they are in the testing stage and most likely will be released by June.
For some reason the on-board SCSI controller will only default to HostRaid and will not works as a vanilla aic79xx SCSI controller; on my system anyways.
I have the 670 Workstation and for some reason I have been unable to force the on-board controller to retain the SCSI controller interface aic79xx. When I disable the raid capability and re-boot the HostRaid is enabled at will.
I have an Adaptec 39320A-R as my primary SCSI card, and my boot-drives and other drives are attached to the card. I also have two SCSI drives attached to the on-board SCSI controller, but when I install the Adaptec aic79xx driver the device is not functional, with the yellow marker indicating driver error, when I install the HostRaid driver the device is working properly, and all the drives attached show up.
I called Dell tech, but was given a timeframe of June - August for the release of 64 bit driver.
I suppose it's adaptec's responsibility to develop new drivers, after all, Dell is only one vendor using AIC-7901, and it's curious why there is such a lag time even after X64 OS is released.
I agree completely. I believe that due to the lack of 64 bit drivers for many critical devices & components Windows XP x64 may remain more of a curiosity until Longhorn is launched, than the actual robust 64 operating environment Microsoft is peddling.
I contacted Adapted and Qlogic directly since I own the Adaptec HostRaid card and Qlogic’s fibre channel HBA and the reply I received:
At this time we do not have the HostRAID drivers planned for the
Windows XP 64bit OS. Please check back with us to see if we made it available due to high demand. I'm sorry for any inconvenience which this may have caused.
Best Regards,
Adaptec Technical Support.
Unbelievable, not only have they not embarked on producing 64 bit drives; for any of their devices, but will only be motivated it Windows XP x64 in high demand.
So it becomes a conundrum: How can Windows x64 can be in high demand if the 64 bit drives required on many devices will not be provided unless the operating system becomes popular.

Adaptec support must be joking because Dell already released those very drivers!!!
I guess that guy himself may "check back later" when there is "sufficient demand". It's pure ignorance shielded in corp speak, no less. but I am happy now with the new drivers out!!
