Partitioned HD cant install WinMe OS on second partition??

Question

Hi I have a dell 4300 with a samsung 80 Gig HD   I have Installed XP on my new drive and partitioned the drive so theres about 16 gig on the second part n the rest of the main drive is 50/60 gig.  I installed xp on both of the partitions but then realised i still needed WinMe.  I have reformatted the second part of the partition but now i cannot find a way to install WinMe onto it.  How do i get the OS installed onto the 16G part of the HD?  Can anyone help please as  i have tried finding answers but they're no use cos the methods shown is for installing from a new drive in one go.  I have setup XP n now the second part of the drive which is drive F: need a new OS. How can i get this done?

My primary OS is the XP  I want the WinME to be the second OS.  If this is the case that i really do need to install ME first what can i do now?  What are my options?  I really need some help here, the link provided was useful but it didnt give any detailed information about what i can do in my situation.   I need some more help :smileysad:    Thanks for your advice its more than welcome

ME is a primary OS, meaning that it must boot from the first partition on the first physical drive. If that drive is partitioned as NTFS, it won't work - you'll have to repartition it with at least a small FAT or FAT32 C: drive to get ME to be bootable.

You CAN install ME after XP, but you'll then have to restore the XP boot sector with a repair install.

What you CANNOT do is install ME as bootable on the system unless the C partition is FAT32 or FAT16 - if it's NTFS, you'll need either to buy Partition Magic and convert it to FAT or repartition and reinstall - whereupon, you should probably install ME first, and then XP.

How do i install ME then?  I cant get it to work in Command Prompt.  And how do i restore the XP boot sector?    I dont want ME to boot to anything, i want to use xp mainly, but i i still need to work within WinME OS with printing for example so it has to be usable as an OS.   So if im installing WinME first, what should i do, do u recommend me reformat the C: drive n F: drive n then install ME first and then install XP after that?  Would that work perfectly fine then?  Cos this lil mistake i have made is starting to wind me up with the fact i got to do so much for such a small mistake, so annoying.
