Yes, it'll work fine from a hardware standpoint (if you're considering moving a preinstalled copy of Windows from a 8500 to an 8000, that will not work - you will need to reformat and reinstall everything). The caddies (carriers) are also different so you'll have to remove the drive from the 8500's caddy and install it into the 8000's caddy.
