Something may have corrupted a driver or two; Click on the CD/RW link in my post and scroll to Section 15, article 1; Section 20, article 3; Also you might consider the Dell firmware update for this drive. It is suppose to address some read / write issues. Click on the Downloads link under the Product Support tab above and follow the directions.
