Inspiron 700M - Maximum Capacity/Spindle Speed

Question

Is the Dell 9X903 compatible with the Inspiron 700m? It's 73.4 GB,15,000 RPM at http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?sku=340-9377&c=us&l=en&cs=04&category_id=2999&page=external. If not, what hard drive wtih the largest capacity/spindle speed is available that's compatible with the 700m? It's got to have a spindle speed of at least 7200rpm. I love my 700m, it's got a 2.0ghz processor and 2gb of RAM, but it still feels just a little bit slow - and I'm thinking - it must be the hard drive? Help.

Please look in your user manual for system specs and how to change the HDD. If you do a simple search on this forum you will come up with many posts about HDD's for notebooks.

guddie,   Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.   That is a SCSI hard drive for a server, and it will not fit in your portable system.   If you go to Dell.com and click on Electronics & Accessories, then find a link to Parts for your Dell, you will be able to choose Inspiron and 700m from the dropdown menus and get a list of compatible parts for your system, including hard drives.
