Hi David, Some Members stated problems with the higher speed discs, recommending a complete format before being able to write to them again. Dell has a firmware release for this drive that addresses issues with 32x CD-R media but wherther it can help with your current problem I cannot say, sorry. You have tried various burning software with the same results, other than trying a different brand of media, I do not have much more to offer.
Best Regards
God, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, the good fortune to run into the ones I do and the eyesight to tell the difference.

David, I have the NR-9100A which is similiar. I haven't had any problems writing and erasing Sony CD-RW's at 10X. You might want to give them a try.
